Experience the Fusion of Innovation and Performance: Sponj Live on GRIDI
Share
In 2015, I embarked on a journey to bridge the tactile and digital realms of music creation, leading to the birth of GRIDI—the world’s largest MIDI sequencer. This expansive installation transforms the intricate process of electronic composition into an interactive, physical experience, inviting both musicians and enthusiasts to explore the depths of sound in a collaborative environment.
GRIDI has since traversed the globe, captivating audiences from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem to international stages in Munich and Milan. Its unique ability to demystify music composition has been highlighted in various publications, including MusicRadar, which questioned, “Is GRIDI the largest sequencer in the world?”
A pinnacle moment in GRIDI’s journey was its feature on Spain’s renowned television show, El Hormiguero, where it shared the stage with artists like Daddy Yankee and Hugh Grant. These appearances underscored GRIDI’s versatility and its appeal across diverse audiences.
In our latest endeavor, my electronic duo, Sponj—comprising myself and Tom Iddan (aka Tito the Wize)—delivers a live performance that showcases the dynamic capabilities of GRIDI. Filmed within the vibrant confines of artist David Gerstein’s studio, this session encapsulates the synergy between human creativity and technological innovation.
We invite you to immerse yourself in this audiovisual journey, where ethnic textures meet electronic rhythms, all orchestrated through the luminous interface of GRIDI.
